GUNNING, DAVID MATTHEW 71 of Somers Point passed away Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at Shore Medical Center, Somers Point after a long illness. David was born on July 11, 1942 in Atlantic City and grew up in Northfield attending Northfield public schools and graduated from Pleasantville High School in 1961.
David worked for Brighton Farms in Linwood before entering the United States Postal Service where he was a mail carrier in Northfield. He retired in 2002 after 30 years of service.
He was an avid bowler, “could hit a baseball a mile”, and liked all sports, especially his Philadelphia Phillies.
He was the son of Floyd and Alice Gunning.
David is survived by his brother Paul (LuAnn), a nephew Brian and a niece Brandi all of Egg Harbor Township, and many other family members and friends. He also had a special canine friend, Mona.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 27, 2013 from 9am until 11am with a short service to follow at Adams-Perfect Funeral Home, 1650 New Road, Northfield. Interment will be private.
