Charles DiOrio

DiOrio, Charles S., 57 of EHT, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, July 25, 2012.

Charlie was born in Ventnor on July 15, 1955 and graduated from Holy Spirit High School in 1973. He was an electrician for Local 351 IBEW, and had recently retired.

He is survived by his loving wife, Debra (nee Dirkes); his beloved son, Dan (Alyssa Marchitto); his brother, Frederick DiOrio III (Nancy Martinez) of Carrollton, TX; devoted cousins, Carol Gumbrecht and Anne Bianchi (Joe); also George Wilman (Dottie) and Joseph Victor (Edie); his mother-in-law, Frances Dirkes; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Doug and Rosemary Dirkes; nieces Rebecca Wright and Amy Chess; and nephew Jon Dirkes.

He was predeceased by his daughter, Carrie McKeever; and his parents, Frederick and Florence (nee Janusz) DiOrio, Jr.

Charlie was a devout catholic, and his passion was his family and sports. He loved Mickey Mantle, Larry Bird, and Mark Messier. He loved rooting for and watching the Jacksonville Jaguars and New York Rangers games.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, July 30, 2012 at 10:00am at St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church, 10 N. Mississippi Ave., Atlantic City. A visitation will be held from 9:00am until the time of Mass.

Interment will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 6931 Arlington Road, 2nd floor, Bethesda, Maryland 20814.
