Whinna, William W. of Riverside, California passed away suddenly on January 13, 2014.
Bill was born on February 13, 1944 in Atlantic City. As a young man growing up in Pleasantville, Bill enjoyed spending time with his family, hanging out with friends at the beach and boardwalk, and playing sports. He also loved working and spending time with his beloved uncles at Perri’s Gas Station in Northfield.
Bill was a graduate of Holy Spirit High School Class of 1961 where he played football and baseball. Bill attended Fairleigh Dickinson University and graduated with a degree in Accounting. Bill had a long, successful career as an accountant and was currently the Chief Financial Officer for The Garrett Group in Temecula, California. He will be sadly missed by his entire work family.
Bill is predeceased by his wife, Iris Whinna; his father, William Whinna; his mother, Jennie Smith; and nephew Danny McGinty. He is survived by his two loving daughters, Joni (Chris) Burns and Jennifer (Mike) Duffy. He will also be sadly missed by his three wonderful grandchildren, Alexa Burns, Logan Burns and MaKayla Duffy; his loving sister, Kay McGinty; niece Terri McGinty; nephew Andy McGinty; great-niece Amanda Wilhoit; great-nephews Daniel McGinty, William McGinty and Richard McGinty; first wife Linda Waldt; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
In his free time, Bill enjoyed playing golf, watching sports and going to the casinos, but most of all spending time with his family, which included his little dog, Friday. Bill was a wonderful, generous man who was always willing to help his family whenever they needed him. He will be fondly remembered and sadly missed.
A viewing will be held on Tuesday, January 21, 2014 from 10 am – 11 am with services to follow at 11 am at Adams-Perfect Funeral Home, 1650 New Road, Northfield. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, 5061 Harding Highway, Mays Landing.
