Torpey, Elizabeth “Betty”, 67, of Galloway, NJ., passed away on Wednesday, March 19, 2014. She was a native of Philadelphia, PA and a lifelong resident of this area. She is the daughter of the late Irvin and Louise Holmes. She was a nurse at the Kid’s Care Pediatrician Office for Dr. Barry Kessler for over 18 years. She enjoyed the beach and traveling with her family. She volunteered her time at Central United Methodist Church and enjoyed spending time with her friends and family. She especially loved spending time with her six grandchildren. Betty is survived by her husband, Gerard Torpey; Julie Snavely (Adam); Joe Isabella (Marlene); John Isabella (Jesse); grandchildren, Ben and Collin Snavely, Gabriella, Joseph, Alyssa and Dominic Isabella; sisters and brother, Nancy Kathleen, Rose Lee and Bill (Mary) Torpey; and her faithful companions, Chance and Surf (Westie Grand Puppies). A Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2014 at Central United Methodist Church, 5 Marvin Avenue in Linwood from 9-10:30am with a Memorial Service beginning at 10:30. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Central United Methodist Church, 5 Marvin Avenue, Linwood, New Jersey 08221.
