Vivian Nothaft

Vivian E. Nothaft, passed away on June 15, 2014 in Ventnor with her family by her side. Vivian was born on May 6, 1926 in Philadelphia, PA. Vivian was a wonderful person. She was brave and took on every day with a smile. She always greeted everyone with a hug. When someone needed help, she was there. She gave generously to many charities, one of which was the Veterans. Among her hobbies were painting, crocheting and knitting. Vivian loved tending to the flowers in her garden, her favorite flowers being roses, lilacs and peonies. She loved to play bingo, visit the casinos, go out to eat and travel. She loved boating, the beach and the boardwalk. Vivian loved her home and living at the Jersey shore. She loved the winter months she would spend in Florida. Most of all she loved her family, her son, grandchildren and her many friends. Vivian was previously employed by Walt Nothaft, Inc. (part owner), Million Dollar Pier, Steel Pier, Central Pier, England General Hospital, Zaberers Restaurant, Atlantic City Convention Center and Jacksonville Naval Center. She was a member of Saint John’s By The Sea Church, Pleasantville Yacht Club, Toast Mistress, Ventnor Historical Society (Life Member), Red Hats, AARP, and the Orange Harbor Boat Club. Vivian was predeceased by her husbands, Philip O. Nothaft and Ernest Hentschel and her son, Dennis J. Nothaft. She is survived by her son, Philip M. Nothaft and wife Hilda of Vineland; grandson, Michael C. Nothaft of Galloway; grandson, Asher D. Nothaft and his mother Linda of Port Norris; granddaughter, Ariel Richvalsky and husband Tim, of Absecon; granddaughter, Allegra Dorotheo and husband Justin of Palm Beach, Florida; niece, Susan Maggio and husband Pete of Jacksonville, Fl.; and nephew, Michael P. Grove and his wife Cathy Sue of Virginia. A Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 19, 2014 from 7-8 with a service to follow at 8 pm at Adams-Perfect Funeral Home, 1650 New Road in Northfield.
