Ford, Reginald A. (Reggie) – 88 of Egg Harbor Township, NJ passed peacefully on September 19, 2014 at home. Reggie was born in Egg Harbor City and spent most of his youth rowing up and down the Mullica River with his dog Rex. He loved nature and enjoyed watching plants grow. Reggie enlisted in the United States Navy during WWII and served in the South Pacific. After serving his country, he attended horticultural classes at Rutgers University and opened a nursery at his home. He was a mechanic at Merkord’s Garage in Egg Harbor City for many years and then joined the Garden State Parkway as a toll collector and maintenance worker where he retired after 25 years of service. Reggie is predeceased by his parents, Arthur and Clara Ford and his wives, Barbara and Mary Ford. He is survived by his children Linda (James), Thomas (Alex), John(Ed), James (Stacey), Jean (Danny), Walter (Dawn), and David, 8 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. He is a beloved member of Union Baptist Temple where a memorial service will be held on Friday, September 26, 2014 at 12:00. 335 N. Pennsylvania Ave., Atlantic City, NJ 08401 (609) 345-4314.
