Herget, Irene – born August 17, 1928 in Chemnitz, Germany and resided in Erlangen, Germany; Rome, NY; and Linwood, NJ, went home to her Lord on September 29, 2014. Irene was a good mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved cooking and baking. No one would ever leave Irene’s home hungry. She thought that everyone should always have a “doggiebag”. Irene was an avid member of the United Methodist Women, Wesley Manor Volunteers, Ranch Hope Auxiliary, Suburban Garden Club, Atlantic City Rescue Mission Auxiliary, the Sandpiper Orchid Society, and held many leadership roles in the organizations over the years. Irene was known as a prayer warrior. Her faith was never ending, and she was an active member of Central United Methodist Church, Linwood. She is predeceased by her loving husband, William Herget, Jr. She is survived by her daughter, Barbara H. Reed; her granddaughter, Jennifer R. Lee (Derrick); her grandson, Jason W. Reed (Jillian); and her great grandchildren, Ryan Lee and Madelyn Reed. Friends and family are invited to attend a viewing on Thursday, October 2nd from 7-9pm at Adams-Perfect Funeral Home, 1650 New Road, Northfield, and again on Friday, October 3rd from 10-11am at Central United Methodist Church, 5 Marvin Avenue, Linwood, followed by a funeral service at 11am. Interment will be held in Friends Central Cemetery, Linwood.
