Wittland, Marie T. 87 nee Barone passed away in Tarpon Springs, FL on Oct 9, 2014. Marie was employed at James Candy Store for 36 years, managing the Columbia Place Store and then working at the New York Avenue Store until her retirement in 1997. She enjoyed spending winters with her husband at their Florida home and would return to New Jersey during the summer. She was an avid Bingo Player. Marie was predeceased by her husband, John J. Wittland, Jr., her son, Michael Wittland (victim of the Tropicana Garage Collapse), her infant grandson, Jay Wittland, and her brother, Nickolas. Marie will be sadly missed by her daughter, Joan and Doc Howell, her daughter-in-law, Nanci Wittland, her grandsons; Charles & Sheena Howell, Ed & Lois Wittland, Tom & Deanna Wittland, Michael & KiKi Wittland, her granddaughters; Karen & Nick Palance, and Cindy Howell, twelve great grandchildren, her sister, Clare & Carl Wittland, her brothers; Carmen and Lou Barone, her sister, Ann Aaron, and her nieces; Maryann & Gene Cannon, and Pauline & Russ McCartney. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2014 at 10am St. Gianna Beretta Molla Parish, St. Bernedette’s Church 1421 New Road, Northfield. A viewing will be held from 9am until the time of the mass. Burial will follow at the Atlantic County Veterans Cemetery, Estell Manor, NJ 08319.
