Reilly (née South), Davida “Dee”, died peacefully in her home in Egg Harbor Township on October 15, 2014 at the age of 78. Dee was predeceased by her parents, daughter Jodee, and son Jeffrey. She is survived by her sons Michael (Margaret) of Corpus Christi, Texas and Jonathan (Sherri) of Little Egg Harbor, NJ; grandchildren Maegan, Jacquelyn, Jared, and Jenna; and her sister Anna “Chickie” Finley of Melbourne Beach, FL. Dee was born in Miami, FL to David and Estelle South and grew up in Pleasantville. She worked as lab technician and phlebotomist for most of her adult life, for a number of doctors and locations. Every morning, Dee looked out her window to see if deer were visiting her backyard that day. She loved to watch the many colorful birds that gathered at her bird feeders, and would make loud noises to scare aware the darn squirrels that would steal the bird’s food. Dee could always be found in her gorgeous yard: she truly had a “green thumb”, and every stick or seed she stuck in the ground grew into a lovely plant. A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Monday, October 20, 2014, at 11 AM, at St. Gianna Beretta Molla Parish 1421New Rd, in Northfield. Friends and family can gather prior to the Mass at 10 AM. Burial will follow at Atlantic City Cemetery. The family would like to thank all the wonderful nurses, home health aides, and other health care professionals from Holy Redeemer and Atlantic Care who provided such compassionate care for Dee during the past few months.
