Tummarello, Mary Jo – 64 of Northfield, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Thursday, March 3, 2016. She was born May 18, 1951 to the late Peter and Josephine (nee Zingarelli) Tummarello. As a child she attended Saint Michael’s Catholic School and graduated from Holy Spirit High School in 1969. Following high school she obtained her cosmetology license from Mainland Beauty Academy. Mary Jo was co-owner of Rita’s of Margate Hair Salon in the early 1970’s. Through the years she continued to work in the beauty industry in Ventnor and Atlantic City. Mary Jo is survived by her lifelong partner, Ronald Smith, of 30 years; her children, Christine Brown (Kevin) of Westlake, Ohio, and Kathleen Schallus (Thomas) of Northfield; her grandchildren, Joanna, Jordan, Joseph, Christopher, Jillian, and Matthew; her sister, Victoria Rich (Frank) of Northfield; brother Frank (Kirsten) of Voorhees; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to Mass on Monday, March 7, 2016 at 11:00am at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, 10 N. Mississippi Avenue, Atlantic City. Visitation at the church will be held from 10:00am until the time of mass. Interment will be private.
