Wolcott, Catherine R. (nee Fahrner), passed away peacefully in her home in the early morning hours of Tuesday, April 12th. Catherine was the tender age of 92, with an amazing spirit and love of life and family. She was predeceased by her parents, John and Myrtle (nee Ward) Fahrner; and her sister, Mary Engel. Catherine served in World War II as a Yeoman Third Class in the US Navy. Prior to her enlisting, she worked tirelessly for the war effort organizing dances for the service men and women in Pittsburgh, PA, where she was born and raised. She was a member of the Sharpshooters Rifle Club. During her high school years she was an avid and excellent roller skating dancer. She was a Legal Secretary for many years, then secured employment as a USA Communications Publications Tech at Fort Monmouth in NJ. She was a loving mother to her son, Richard and her daughter, Catherine “Cathy” Draper. She leaves behind two grandchildren that she loved deeply and was so proud of their accomplishments, grandson Justin Draper (Agata), and their two children, her great grandchildren, Dylan and Karina, whom she absolutely adored; and her granddaughter, Sara Draper, who helped care for her and give her many laughs. Catherine loved to travel and couldn’t play enough bingo or go to the casinos enough, until her eyesight started to fail. Catherine had the sweetest, kindest nature and was always laughing. She will be missed desperately. Her service will be private, family only, as per her request. Her family would like to thank Heartland Hospice and their caregivers, Nancy and Delta, for their loving care, and Donna Korte of The Griswold Agency for her laughter and loving care.
