Gallina, Mary Ellen, 88, of Egg Harbor Twp, formerly of Northfield and Barnegat, passed away on Friday, March 27, 2015. She grew up in Northfield, attending Northfield Schools and Pleasantville High School. Mary worked for in the family business Northfield Bakery, also working at Daddy-O Donuts and finally at Manahawkin Shoprite. She attended Bayside Chapel in Barnegat and most recently New Life Assembly in Egg Harbor Twp. She was predeceased by her husbands, James H. Lawson, Robert Conklin, and Harold Gallina; son Roy Lawson, step-son, Harold Gallina, grandson, Thomas Scott Clark, daughter in-law, Ellen Gallina; and sister, Hannah Young. Mary Ellen is survived by her children, Nancy Peterson (Harry Peterson, III), Robert Lawson (Sally). Frank Lawson, Linda Grant (Ron), Tom Lawson (Brenda); step-son, David Gallina; daughter in-laws, Emmy Lawson and Sue Gallina; 18 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren. A service will be at 11 am, on Tuesday, March 31, 2015, at New Life Assembly Church, 5071 Fernwood Ave, in Egg Harbor Twp. Visitation will be from 10 am until the time of the service. Charles Doughty
Charles “Jack” L. Doughty, 83 passed away peacefully on March 24, 2015. Jack was born on August 11, 1931, to the late Samuel and Mary Doughty and grew up in Pleasantville. His commendable military career in the United States Army includes 25 years of service and tours in Indochina, Korea, and Vietnam. During his enlisted at Fort Meade, Maryland he served as a cryptanalyst with the Department of Defense. Jack received the National Defense Service Medal, the Bronze Star, the Vietnam Service Medal, and the Gallantry Cross. In addition, many other citations, awards, badges, and accommodations. After being honorably discharged in 1975, he served as a non-commissioned officer for the National Security Agency. In addition to his illustrious military career, Jack was also academically minded and earned his B.S. degree in history CIRCULUS SCHOLARUM from Coppin State College in Baltimore, Maryland. He developed this interest as a life-long historian of African American history. Later he went on to become a math teacher in the Atlantic City School District. Jack bowled prodigiously and was a fan of football. Go redskins! He enjoyed traveling throughout the country with his late nephew Bobby and late best friend Herman Lang. Jack was also a member Salem United Methodist in Pleasantville. He is predeceased by his brothers Walter, Mitchell, Sammy, and sisters Francis, Helena, May, and Margaret, and leaves his memory to cherished by his caretakers Darryl Doughty Sr. and his wife Tammie, a host of nieces and nephews, and special military comrade, Jim Minnucci. Services will be held on Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at 11:00 am at Salem United Methodist Church, 815 S. Main Street, Pleasantville, NJ. Marie Kraly
Kraly, Marie (nee Lott) – age 84 of Galloway, passed away on March 30th at her home with her family by her side. Born May 17, 1930 to the late Louis Julius and Maude (nee Hand) Lott. Marie is also predeceased by her nine siblings: Emilie Grace (Earl), Louis J. Lott (Belle), Clarence Albert Lott, Julia Sugden (John), William Lott (Pat), Margaret Marsh (John), Thomas Lott (Theresa), Barbara (Henry Frank) (Bill Haley), and infant sister Florence Margaret Lott. Marie was preceded in death by her husband, John R. Kraly; and infant grandson Raymond D. Reinhard. Marie is survived by two sons, John M. Kraly of Folsom and Steven R. Kraly (Joanne) of Las Vegas, NV; and three daughters, Kathleen Reinhard (Ray) of Penhook, VA, Linda Gellien (Greg) of Galloway, and Joanne DeRose and her boyfriend Paul Perrira, also of Galloway. She also leaves behind eight grandchildren and two step grandchildren: Rachel Sigmor and her fiance Ryan King, Melissa Philpott (John), Amanda Alberts and her fiance George Jurko, Jessica Alberts and her fiance Jason Costello, Zachary DeRose, Rebecca DeRose, Stephanie Kraly and her fiance Daniel Cepeda, and Samantha Kraly. Marie will also be missed by her three great-grandchildren, Rowan Sigmon, Sailor Atkinson, and Braeden Philpott. Marie was born in Belcoville, then moved to Weymouth, Mays Landing, Pleasantville, and raised her own family in Absecon Highlands/Galloway. Well known for her love of baking, especially her German family tradition, “Springerle” cookies. Her baking continued throughout her children’s school years as a PTA member. She loved traveling with her husband and children to many destinations across the U.S. She always had time for a game of Canasta, Scrabble or Uno, and enjoyed solving crossword puzzles, and was an avid watcher of Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune. She had a love of daisies, especially the wild ones picked and handed to her by her children and grandchildren. She also leaves behind many dear friends and family members, including dear friends, Marilyn Radcliff and her sister in law Phyllis Kraly. A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 3, 2015 at 11:00am at Adams-Perfect Funeral Home, 1650 New Road, Northfield. A viewing will be held from 10:00am until the time of the service. James R. Pinto, passed away on March 26th. He was born in Philadelphia on February 11, 1943. James lived in Northfield and Somers Point since he was 18. He sold cars at Ruffu Ford and Carter Lincoln Mercury. He will be sadly missed and loved by his family: daughters Lynn Pinto and Wendy Pelikan; ex-wife and friend, Loretta; two granddaughters, Alysha Levenski and Kerri Cooper (Jose); one grandson, Craig Plageman; and two great grandsons, Andrew Santiago and Nicholas Catalano. Bartolo, Jeanette, 77 of Egg Harbor Township, formerly of Brooklyn, passed away on Friday, April 3, 2015. Born and raised in Brooklyn, she worked for J.P. Morgan Guaranty Trust Company for over 25 years. Jeanette loved the casino and the NY Mets. She is survived by her sister, Mary DeNino; many nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog, Gidget. Guzzetti, Sr., Richard A. “The Commish”, 60, of Egg Harbor Twp, went home to be with the Lord, surrounded by his family on April 30, 2015. Born in Brooklyn, NY, and was raised in Atlantic City. Rich’s passions were fantasy football, the Jets, Mets, and Sixers. He was predeceased by his parents Vincent and Sophie, and grandson, Nicholas Giannini. Rich is survived by his adoring and loving wife of 37 years, Marguerite Guzzetti; children, Richard A. Guzzetti, Jr., Thomas (Patti) Giannini, and Dominic (Eva) Giannini; grandchildren, Jeffrey, Gino, Julia, Dominique, Sara, and Ariel; sisters, Debra (Jerry) Sternberg and Maralee (Patty) Guzzetti; brother in-laws, William (Linda) Ricci, Joe (Debbie) Ricci, James (Nancy) Ricci, and Michaelangelo (Rudy) Ricci; sister in-law, Roseann (Gary) Canale; God Children, Eric Glenn and Michelle Wheeler; many beloved nieces and nephews; and his two faithful companions, Lady and Mikey. George Policastro
Policastro, George, passed away peacefully at home on April 25, 2015. George was born June 16,1936 in the city of Newark, New Jersey. He was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Anna Policastro. George is survived by his childhood sweetheart and wife, Antoinette Policastro, to whom he was married for 57 years. Together they had three children: Frank Policastro, George Policastro and Gina Briglia; son- in-law Jesse Briglia; and daughter-in-law Pamela Policastro. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Frank (Erin) Policastro, Jacqueline Policastro, Richard Policastro, Jesse Briglia and Gianna Briglia; great granddaughters Sophia Annette and Ella Grace Policastro. George was brother-in-law to the Nasto Family (Albano, Carden, Caprara, Nieratko). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews; and was a cousin to the Caruso and Zielinski Family. George is fondly remembered for his generous and giving nature, and for being a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He loved going to the beach, swimming in the ocean, cooking, carpentry, painting and gardening. In retirement nothing made him happier than being a loving husband and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. A viewing will be held on Wednesday, April 29th from 9:00am until 10:00am at Adams-Perfect Funeral Home, 1650 New Road, Northfield, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am at St. Joseph’s Church, 606 Shore Road, Somers Point. Laura Snyder
Laura M. Snyder 65 of EHT was born August 4, 1949 went with God peacefully on April 24, 2015. She was predeceased by her mother, father and eldest brother. She is survived by her son, Ernest Snyder and his wife, Bethany, her daughter, Jennifer (Snyder) Tarby and her husband, Raymond, and six grandchildren. Laura had a love for travel. A fierce love and loyalty for family. Laura enjoyed working as a chemistry technician and Phlebotomist for over 40 years. Diana Henderson
Diana S. Henderson, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on April 22, 2015. She was born, raised and educated in the city of Philadelphia, PA. She was the daughter of Alta and Louis Stulz, Jr. She is survived by her sons; Scott and his girlfriend Lori, and Craig and his wife Carol; and daughter Patricia (Joe); sister, Jane Feldman; seven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; Salem Church family members and many friends. Diana was a church lay leader of Salem Church for seventeen years, taught adult Sunday school, served on the trustees, P.P. R., Evangelism Committee, and sang in the church choir for a total of fifty eight years. She was the President of the Salem’s United Methodist Women local unit services for two, four year terms. She was also a spiritual leader for the S.E. District United Methodist Women and was Vice President and President. Diana was an avid bowler, participating in Bowling Tournaments throughout the country. She was President of the Philadelphia Women’s Major League and won the 1951 Pennsylvania State Championship Doubles Title with partner and best friend, Jo Bell. She served as President of the Camden Neighborhood Center Auxillary. Served as President of the Atlantic City Rescue Mission and was a volunteer. She was known as the “Joke” lady and told the “cute” ones that made people laugh. Her motto was –“I’m too blessed to be stressed.” Services will be held on Monday, May 4, 2015 at 11:00 am at the Salem United Methodist Church, 815 S. Main Street, Pleasantville, NJ. where friends may call from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at the church. Burial will be held privately on Tuesday at the Eglington Cemetery, Clarksboro, NJ. Patrick McMahon
Patrick Dean McMahon- 54, of Mays Landing N.J., passed away suddenly at home on Wednesday, April 22nd. He was born in Trenton NJ on June 28th 1960. Raised in Hamilton, NJ and graduated from Hamilton High School West, class of 1978. He is survived by his loving parents Rodger and Shirley McMahon, his son Sean (Alexandria) McMahon, daughter Dana McMahon, brother Timothy (Donna) McMahon, sister Kathleen (David ) Adams and many nieces and nephews. Leaving behind his Grandson Mason Patrick McMahon and grand-dogs Bella Anne and Oakley Doak who were always able to keep him busy and smiling. Pat lived each and every day fishing, hunting, riding motorcycles and living the simple life. He was a mechanic and manager for several marinas along the South Jersey coast. Patrick now joins his sister Robin Buchko in peaceful rest. Walter Lang (78), passed away on May 3, 2015 at his home in Absecon, surrounded by his loving wife and children. Walter graduated from Pleasantville High School in 1954. He served in the United States Army with the 187th Airborne Division. Walter retired from Atlantic Electric after 35 years, as a cable splicer and underground supervisor. He also was employed at Seaview Country Club for 15 years. Walter wintered in Port St. Lucie, Florida, for the past 25 years, enjoying golf, the beach and his many friends. Walter was past President of Absecon Blue Devils, where he coached football, boy’s baseball and girl’s softball. He was involved in all of his children’s activities. He was also a member of the American Legion. Walter is predeceased by his parents and his brother, Hans Lang, Jr. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Lena; his children, Walter Lang, Jr. (Vicky), Gregory Lang (Patti), Brenda Maslanka (Dave) and Sherry Fatzinger (Bob); his grandchildren, Walt III, Danny, Lindsey, Gregory, Julie, Stephen, Evan, Jeff (Rachel), Jennifer, Katie (Carl), Carrie (Jon), Kevin, Christine and Kimberly; great grandchildren, Madison, Jameson, Cory, Grayson, Kinley, and two more coming soon; sister, Susanne Ligas; and many loving nieces and nephews; and extended family members. Nanfara, Rosalia (nee La Rizza), 83, of Atlantic City, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, May 2, 2015. Born in Delia, Caltanissetta, Sicily, Italy, she immigrated to the United States on May 15, 1963 with her husband Michael and three children. She is predeceased by her husband Michael, her parents Giuseppe and Susanna (nee La China) La Rizza, as well as her sisters Catena Ferrante Bannera and Calogera Falzone. She is survived by her four children: Marcantonio Nanfara, M.D. (Angela Siuta), Provvidenza Mancuso (Tommaso), Joseph Nanfara (Marguerita Belger, and Ralph J. Nanfara. She also leaves eight grandchildren: Calogero, Michele, and Francesco Mancuso, Michael T., Marc, Rosalia, Michael J., and Greta Nanfara. She is also survived by two sisters, Maria Giuliana and Giuseppina Vaccaro (Angelo), one brother Calogero La Rizza and many nieces and nephews. A devout Catholic, she was a member of St. Michael Roman Catholic Parish and Mary Help of Christians Society for the past 52 years. A seamstress by profession, she worked at various factories and fine ladies shops. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 6, 2015 from 6 PM to 8 PM at Adams-Perfect Funeral Home, 1650 New Road, Northfield, New Jersey 08225. GRAMLICK, PATRICIA ANN (nee Breckley) – age 68, of Somers Point, NJ, died peacefully and went to be with her Lord on May 6, 2015, after a long battle with Ovarian Cancer. She was surrounded by her children and many loved ones. Born in Somers Point, NJ, February 13, 1947. She also loved to bake & enjoyed spending time with her family. Patty will always be remembered for the love and compassion she always showed towards others.
