Dorothy Leeds

Leeds, Dorothy “Dot”, 84, passed away on January 14, 2013 at Seashore Gardens in Galloway Twp. A previous longtime resident of Pleasantville, she retired from the Pleasantville School System as a cafeteria worker at the Leeds Ave. School. She was a member of the Ladies Altime Grotto and a longtime member of Keystone Chapter 69 of Eastern Star. She was predeceased by her parents, William and Rosetta Hingston; and her husband, John Leeds. Survived by her daughters, Janyce Leeds of EHT, and Barbara Mathis of Galloway Twp; granddaughters Heather Rocap (Tighe), Dana Henderson (Pete), and Laurie Mathis; grandson William Mathis IV (Kelly); great grandchildren Madison and Morgan Rocap, Lola and Scarlett Henderson, and Samantha Salazar; her brother, William Hingston (Ginger); and nieces Pat Menear (Rick), Carole Bounds (Roger), and Ceann HIngston (Sandy). Dot will be fondly remembered for her handiwork, cooking and baking, as she supported the Masonic organization and her church. Her baking was legendary. A graveside service will be held on Friday, January 18, 2013 at 11:00am at Atlantic County Veterans Cemetery, 109 State Highway 50, Estell Manor. The family would like to thank the staff at Seashore Gardens for understanding our desire to only want the best care for our mother.
