Krown, Richard (RK) , 80 of EHT, formerly of Rio Grande. As heaven rejoiced, we mourned on August 26 th as our Husband, Father, Friend and Co-Worker lost his courageous battle with cancer. RK was born in Camden to the late Claude and Gladys Krown, former owners of Krown Records from 1958 until RK took over in 1971.
RK served 4 years in the Navy aboard the USS Baine and is a Veteran of the KoreanWar. He was a 25 year volunteer firefighter at the Rio Grande Fire Co., and flew the “Eye in the Sky” weather plane for a local station. Bartended at the Blue Claw Restaurant and Bellevue Tavern, for the last 14 years was employed as a department manager at Boscov’s . His passions were airplanes, naval history and golf. He was an original member of Avalon Golf Club.
RK is survived by his children, Barbara (Chris); Richard (Dawn); Patience (Jeff); Brandy (David), Hans and Christopher; four grandchildren and his wife and best friend of 41 years Janice (Jan) nee Klug. He is also survived by his other families the wonderful co-workers at Boscov’s, his church and his furry friends; especially Yana.
Services will be held on Friday August 31, 2012 at Community Church of the Nazareen on 2151 Zion Road Northfield. Calling hour from 10-11:00 AM and service at 11:00 AM to follow. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in RK’s memory to alleviate expenses to Bank of America 321 New Road Somers Point, NJ 08244.
