Robert A. Clark age 83 of Northfield, New Jersey joined his beloved wife Rosalie in heaven on October 3, 2012. He fought a courageous battle against cancer and is now at peace. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
Robert was born in Parkersburg, West Virginia to George A. and Margaret R. Clark. He graduated Parkersburg High School in 1947 and attended Marietta College and West Virginia University. Robert served his country in the United State Air Force from 1951 until 1955 and was stationed in Germany. He received an Honorable discharge from Military Service.
He was employed as an Air Traffic Controller Specialist by the Federal Aviation Administration for 33 years. Robert was assigned to Wheeling, West Virginia, Norfolk, Virginia, and the William J. Hughes Technical Center, Atlantic City, NJ. Robert served as a Dispatcher for the Northfield Police Department, NJ, for several years until his retirement.
Robert was a member of the Trinity and Belcher Lodges of the Free and Accepted Masons, Scottish Rite, Lodge Council Chapter Consistory, Valley of Southern New Jersey and the Crescent Shrine. Robert was the Past President of the Nomads of Ocean City, the Ocean City Masonic Club and Past Commodore of the Riverboat Cub of Ocean City, New Jersey. Robert was a member of Central United Methodist Church in Linwood, New Jersey.
He is survived by his sons; Robert A. Clark II and his wife, Stephanie, Randy Clark and Lori McLaughlin, Dr. Benjamin Epstein and his wife, Kathy; his grandchildren. Specialist Steven R. Clark United States Army, Sami Epstein, Maxx Epstein and his great granddaughter, Madalynn Rose Clark to who he was affectionately known as Pop Pop.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Monday, October 8, 2012 at the Adams-Perfect Funeral Home, 1650 New Road, Northfield, NJ. A visitation will from 10:00 am to 11:00 am prior to the service. Interment will be at the Zion Cemetery, Egg Harbor Township, NJ.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to be made to the South Jersey Cancer Fund, P O Box 1084, Brigantine, NJ 08203.
